Poem for Mother
Mother
Can we ever be grateful enough for the gift of ‘mother’. She literally lives through each moment of agony with us and yet adulthood brings in convenient amnesia. This one is for you, ma…

When you need to shed a tear,
She waits as you take another
Step along, firm and quite near,
To perfection…she is mother!
To share a laugh and giggle loud,
Share times and trials smother,
She is quick to blow clear cloud,
That breeze…she is mother!
She never gives up on you as may
Trusted friend and fiendish brother,
She tugs along thorn strewn way,
And tucks you safe…she is mother!
Do you realize, she’s always there,
Through this way and the other,
Giving strength and mending tear,
This gift of life…she is mother!
What wonderful beings hold in womb,
Our life so we may breathe and live,
And take with spirit the route to tomb,
While imparting life and honor give.
Tis but right to think of angel form,
As image of God and winged delight,
As omniscient bliss to calm the storm,
A beacon to light every dark night.
